ECS is seeking a Software Test Engineer to work in our Stafford, VA office / remote.

Job Description:

ECS is seeking a full-time Software Test Engineer to join a team of experts charged with providing high quality, customized software solutions for the for tracking and reporting the United States Marine Corps Aviation and Aviation Ground training and readiness. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry level to mid-range Software Engineer/Developer to gain knowledge and experience in the DOD Software Development process. We are looking for someone who will work collaboratively with the Product Owners/Business Analysts, Software Developers and User Experience Developer to build, design, and maintain software content for a Government Owned cloud-based application. Specific job functions include:

  • Evaluates, recommends, and implements test tools and strategies.
  • Designs, implements, and conducts test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Writes, implements, and reports status for system test cases for testing. Analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports.
  • Serves as subject matter specialist providing testing know-how for the support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications.
  • Directs and/or participates in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design and test tools selection.
  • Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts.

Required Skills:
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of Three (3) years' experience with Software Development Life Cycle processes to include: Software Testing / User Interface Testing.

Desired Skills:
  • Microsoft .NET Framework.
  • Agile Software Methodologies.
  • Automated Testing frameworks (Selenium, MTM [Microsoft Test Manager]).
  • Microsoft Visual Studio proficiency.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects with deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast paced on-time deliverable environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of USMC Aviation Training and Readiness, military readiness reporting and related policy and processes.
