Job Description Summary
This position coordinates and administers all aspects of Assessment Center services as the District Administrator of the GED/HSED testing program. Provides technical assistance and excellent service to internal and external customers related to Assessment Center services. Maintains confidentiality of all test situations and results for all examinees.

Work schedule: 7:30AM to 4:00PM
Flexibility in work schedule is required work one evening per week.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate the Assessment Center testing functions through training and overseeing test proctors, in accordance with all federal, state, or test licensure guidelines. Serve as lead person and provide technical support for internal staff as it applies to facilitation of GED, ACCUPLACER, Pearson VUE, TEAS, and Bennett Mechanical tests. Provide a flexible and convenient testing schedule and staff coverage at all FVTC test sites.
  • Ensure the installation and maintenance of current software, hardware, and technology meets the need of assessment functions. Provide technical support.
  • Maintain an accurate record keeping and reporting system for assessment services and results.
  • Maintain test security as outlined by federal and state guidelines through verbal direction and manual actions including monitoring test usage, completing daily inventory for accountability, and following all guidelines for locked and travel storage.
  • Maintain procedures and processes for ordering test materials and supplies in accordance with annual contracts and licensures.
  • Administer timed and un-timed tests to all groups and individuals according to guidelines, with an emphasis placed on protecting the integrity of the tests, as well as alleviating test anxiety for students. Facilitate testing through distributing testing materials, providing all necessary direction, and using multiple timers as appropriate.
  • Complete test processing through scanning and recording of statistical data. Through evaluation of results, provide score interpretation to students. Refer students to other FVTC resources as needed.
  • Direct, advise, and provide technical assistance to students, employers, staff, outside agencies, and the general public regarding requests for information on test results and test services. Serve as primary liaison with Department of Public Instruction and test licensing entities.
  • Work with Educational Support Services to provide for individualized needs of testing candidates.
  • Advocate and maintain relationships with internal client groups as well as community-based support organizations, including area high school sites and literacy councils, providing communication about assessment services and advising them of their options.
  • Participate in internal or external activities as a representative of the Assessment Team for extended committees or task forces.


SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Participate in selection process for alternate examiners for any of the testing provided by Assessment Center.
  • Monitor and update Assessment web page.
  • Provide back-up to other division support staff as requested.
  • Contribute ideas to and help develop new initiatives and process improvements and participate in larger team decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in teaching, training, counseling, or testing, AND
  • Two years of related work experience, OR
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain Chief GED Examiner licensure.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Word and Excel, database, and file management skills.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Additional Information

Starting pay: $20.90 per hour.

Note: Internal applicants' wages will be based on the applicable compensation structure.
