Senior Business Development Representative (Federal Government) (Remote)

Huntsman Advance Materials division is seeking a Senior Business Development Representative to support defense-related research and development activities within the U.S. defense market. We are open to remote locations. Finding and capturing new business opportunities in the areas of aerospace, naval, ground and space vehicle platforms. The Associate will seek U.S. federal funding opportunities aligned with Huntsman market strategies. Manage capture and proposal formation processes outlined within the Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR) and its supplements. Facilitate and coordinate program briefings. This includes high-visibility communications with internal customers (Vice-President Level) as well as external customers. Discern what is required to win awards, develop compelling value propositions, and prepare/present strong business cases to leadership.

As the Senior Business Development Representative (Federal Government), you will:

  • Interface directly with the customer decision makers and key influencers to assemble opportunities aligned with Huntsman new products, technologies, and capabilities
  • Finds and plans capturing new business opportunities in the areas of aerospace, naval, ground and space vehicle platforms aligned with Huntsman's market strategies
  • Gather and analyze relevant information (e.g., U.S. federal budgeting cycles, Future Years Defense Program, and competitive assessment) from internal and external sources to support strategy development and alignment across functions
  • Create winning proposals by leveraging detailed understanding of the customers' processes, procedures, techniques, organization, and culture - specific knowledge of US Department of Defense (DoD) agencies responsible for: research and development activities, hardware lifecycle management and acquisition processes and procedures
  • Demonstrate excellent communication/presentation skills including exceptional persuasive writing skills to craft clear stories
  • Maintain on-going interactions with all stakeholders and functional organizations providing input to a program capture/pursuit
  • Lead bid and proposal activities to deliver compelling and compliant proposals
  • Assist Program Managers and Federal Contracts Manager with client relations
  • Serve as alternate subject matter expert for maintaining and securing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)

Skills and experiences required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Material, Chemical Engineering or any technical field; Advanced Degree is preferred
  • Ten or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD +5 years' related work experience, Master +8 years' related work experience)
  • Strong skill in business writing - both technical and non-technical
  • Must be a US Citizen and meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Security Clearance
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification (any career field) or other relevant professional organizations and societies (AIAA, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
  • Strong computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
  • Travel requirements range from 20% to 30% pending, if local or remote
