JOB SUMMARY

DFA Dairy Brands Division has an immediate job opening for an innovative Sr. Human Resource Director (HRD) - Southeast Group who serves as an HR Strategic Business Partner and Change Management Agent. The HRD drives and implements HR initiatives and projects to completion within their assigned Group. All of their efforts lead toward increased organizational effectiveness by building the capability of the workforce and both the HR Team and all other functional teams in the Group. He/she leads strategy and tactics to positively impact overall business results and appropriate HR Metrics. The position provides support and guidance to the VPHR, and to local Teams in their efforts to build people capabilities that support the Group's business agenda. This guidance will be in large part driven by business knowledge, analytical reasoning, analysis, and experience gained through professional exposure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for execution of career development efforts, people planning, talent acquisition, performance management, and organizational design at the group and plant level. This role also facilitates linkage between pay and performance.
  • Consults with management team to analyze and assess people needs of the organization and develops and implements strategies to meet those needs, including assisting with local recruiting efforts if needed. For higher level openings, may source candidates internally and externally, and manage and execute the hiring process, overseeing candidate management process from interviewing to hire (including all reporting).
  • Participates and drives on-boarding and leadership development.
  • Identifies key training needs and develops plans and timelines for design and delivery.
  • Leads and develops HR direct reports as well as leads and participates in HR meetings.
  • Involved in the leadership, development, and direction of the local management teams.
  • Drives business performance by utilizing knowledge of the business and the interrelationships to influence strategy and decision-making.
  • Strategically drives and recommends business process consistencies, including HR process standardization across the Group and the country.
  • Partners with Group leaders on employee engagement strategy; driving execution of DFA Dairy Brands or Group/local programs
  • Ensures positive employee relations by proactive employee communication, prompt issue resolution and fair & equitable treatment. This includes support of local and national programs to promote employee good will and positive morale.
  • Day-to-day oversight of labor relations within the geographical area of responsibility in coordination with the Labor Team.
  • Impacts and influences companywide decisions and strategy by utilizing knowledge of financial concepts and leveraging financial performance information.
  • Identifies and champions initiatives and improvements that have significant impact on the organization and its culture.
  • Creates organization wide capability to effectively manage change.
  • Leads, facilitates, and drives the change management process within the group.
  • Attracts, motivates, and coaches leaders to create and sustain change.
  • Identifies opportunities and recommends changes to increase performance, reduce costs, and positively impact metrics through analytical approaches, including the tracking of key data and analyzing trends,
  • Contributes to the development of the company's vision and the overall strategy to realize it.
  • Contributes to the overall business strategy by articulating the broad implications of business trends.
  • Drives decisions about how information regarding company decisions, policies, or issues is disseminated and/or shared.
  • Sets the standard and tone for the organization to meet its commitments.
  • Anticipates and overcomes barriers to delivering quality HR services.
  • Leverages and educates others on available technology, shared services, HR services and procedures to meet customer needs.
  • Drives alignment of key metrics and standards.
  • Creates and evaluates HR policies.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree, or graduate degree, in Business, Human Resource Management, or a related discipline is required (for internal and external candidates). An advanced degree in business is a plus.
  • 10 years of experience in Human Resources role(s). Prior experience managing HR professionals preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting multi facility with prior labor relations experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to lead national and local projects and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Labor/Employee Relations, Recruitment and Selection, Benefits and Compensation, as well as policy and procedure interpretation.
  • Requires effective oral and written communications skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with others across levels and functions while working on multiple tasks in a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to make decisions based on all relevant information and builds recommendations and solves problems, based on this data; may use spreadsheets, performance indicators, or other tools to analyze the data.
  • Proven organizational and project management skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Ability to establish credibility with managers and employees.
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities and prioritize a heavy workload in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proactive approach towards improving processes and systems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, strong negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to identify and handle sensitive issues with discretion and a commitment to confidentiality.
