Basic Job Function
Provide the strategic and tactical direction for the newly innovating Interoperability suite of solutions (FHIR-based data interoperability and patient access), designed to support our customers in payer, provider, healthcare IT, pharmacy, pharmaceutical, medical device and other healthcare organizations. Provide leadership within the healthcare business of LexisNexis Risk across the matrixed teams that create, sell, and deliver this solution suite. Define the market vision, strategy goals, and objectives for the assigned products and facilitate action in the accomplishment of those goals. Ensure the maximum revenue growth for the area

Accountabilities

  • Provide subject matter and deep industry expertise for the business opportunities created by the 21st Century Cures Act and the related regulations, including FHiR 4x Patient Access APIs, SMART on FHIR, and TEFCA
  • Understand current and anticipate future regulations and business trends related to Interoperability; leveraging this knowledge, create and update strategy to build a leadership position within the Interoperability industry
  • Innovate with the newly emerging market, providing entrepreneurial zeal, enthusiasm, and vision to create market that do not yet exist
  • Apply a deep understand of previous cloud-first approaches, API strategies, and data sharing standards (HL7 20 and 30) to leverage best practices, avoid previous mistakes, and create string differentiation for the new solutions
  • Lead all aspects of Interoperability solution suite activity (also referred to below as market area) within the vertical, including leadership of the matrixed cross-functional teams doing product management and development
  • Provide thought leadership and promote the LexisNexis Risk brand through publications and conferences
  • Serve as a client facing SME on both the newly emerging industry and the capabilities of LexisNexis
  • Develop and execute market vision and strategy for the market area
  • Facilitate action to accomplish product strategy by working within a cross functional team (finance, product development, marketing, sales) to execute go to market strategies in the specific market area
  • Direct the development of and participate in reviewing and approving the short and long range operating objectives and plans for the market area to achieve maximum revenue growth in support of the corporate strategy Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate individual market area plans into an overall healthcare business unit strategic plan
  • Accountable for revenue objectives in the specific market area
  • In addition to crafting strategy, ensures the proper execution of strategic market area plan
  • Responsible for ensuring through the market area strategy, the appropriate product portfolio mix and appropriate positioning Develop recommendations for new product concepts and existing product modifications in line with the market area strategy and overall market area strategy
  • Review and evaluate the market area performance on a continuing basis and establish the proper measures of performance; provide direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans in accordance with prevailing business conditions
  • Direct the analysis for specific near-term market opportunities of major importance and the development of business cases, pricing, negotiation and contract strategies to ensure an adequate level of customer satisfaction Conduct market and competitor research in order to identify trends and implications to the market area strategy including market sizing and other qualitative and quantitative analyses
  • Identify timely and appropriate business plans to support the strategic goals of the market area Work with cross functional team on the development of the business case
  • Develop and recommend sales channel strategy utilizing market research and data
  • Support relationships with key accounts, industry and trade associations, government representatives, public service organizations, customers and vendors as necessary in the overall management of the market area Present at conferences and on webinars, as required
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate communications within and between various functional areas within the market area of responsibility
  • Initiates and develops pricing strategies and policies; recommend pricing actions and promotional programs in support of market area strategy and revenue plan
  • Review the activities within the market area for strengths and weaknesses and take corrective action when necessary
  • Develop go to market materials such as Sales training, proposal templates, ROI calculators, and pitch decks Assist in providing content for marketing communications (for collateral material, print advertising, web promotion, etc)
  • Perform other duties as requested by VP Healthcare Strategy


Qualifications
  • Requires an MBA or equivalent experience
  • Requires significant knowledge and experience working with healthcare interoperability based on FHIR 4.0 standards
  • Requires knowledge of API gateway and cloud-centric business models
  • Requires experience in client-facing roles requiring high levels of trust
  • Requires a minimum of 7-10 years related healthcare industry experience
  • Requires a minimum of 7-10 years related technical and professional experience
  • Skills required include business acumen, strategic planning, organizational assessment, creativity, highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills, quantitative analytical abilities and outstanding communication skills including public speaking capabilities
  • The ability to work effectively within a cross functional organization
