Vertiv is hiring a Sr. Manager, Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) for our Integrated Solutions (IS) product line. They will be responsible to drive Global Strategy, Interlock, and Execution as a core member of the New Product Development Introduction (NPDI) & Global Operations team. In this role, the Sr. Manager will collaborate with the cross functional teams globally to drive time to market requirements, operational excellence & capacity planning to support business growth. They will accomplish this by leading the industrial transformation & supply chain readiness activities according to the project scope & business needs. The individual in this position will be able to interpret the voice of customer and translate those requirements into several defined process areas including but not limited to: Design for Manufacturing, failure, mode and effects analysis (FMEA) analysis, supply chain mapping with optimization (lead time, cost, capital), prototyping & piloting, manufacturing facility layouts and product line testing.

Core Focus:

  • Develop & Implement Global Operational Strategy, which aligns w/Vertiv Key Initiatives.
  • Global Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Integrated Modular Systems (IMS) manufacturing/integration technology & process.
  • Responsible for the Global Operational Scenario Mapping, Plan/Investment, & interlock/alignment w/Key Stakeholders (Business Unit Leaders, Regional Operations, ELT)
  • Lead New Product Development Introduction, Engineering to Order, Design Transfers, Strategic Initiative projects for Concept, Approve Execution and Design.
  • Key Inputs: Stakeholder Requirements Specification (Project offer requirements and voice of the customer (VOC). For example, lead time, cost targets, launch regions, forecast and revenue.
  • Key Outputs: Manufacturing Tech Readiness Level, Supply Chain Architecture scenarios, Landed Product Cost, Capex plan, Manufacturing time-to-market targets, Operational Risk Assessment, Product build plan (i.e. prototyping), design for manufacturing scope/plan/execution.
  • Responsible for interlock and hand-off w/Regional AME Teams.
  • Drive Global Interlock and Alignment through being the Point of contact/Influencer between Business Unit & Global Operations.
  • Lead the Global MTRL (Manufacturing Technology Readiness Level) for new & current technologies.
  • Support Key Supplier/ODM Selection & Qualification.
Responsibilities:
  • Core functional member within New Product Development (NPD) Global project teams.
  • Insures appropriate resources & priorities are aligned w/Global Roadmaps & Key Strategic Projects.
  • Extensive communication/coordination/alignment and participation with cross-functional teams & project meetings

  • Insure DFx is applied during NPDI projects.
  • Drive and coordinate the manufacturing requirements of new products, from project concept to release of new products.
  • Direct all stages of prototype builds and pilot runs.
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineers and Materials teams to develop documentation for new products (bills of material, routings, and manufacturing instructions).
  • Communicate project requirements', actions, and status with other departments.
  • Track and publish NPI Deliverables using defines tools and databases.
    • Operations Plans
    • Manufacturing Process Flow Charts
    • Production Readiness Evaluations
    • Cost Analysis - cost estimates and standards costing.
  • Specifies Capex investment requirements for the new offer - new equipment and tooling requirements.
  • ATE (automated test environment) Function. Responsible for oversight of the new offer product Automatic tester development. DFT (design for test) review, PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) ICT (information and communication technology), FCT (functional circuit test) development and Product Function test.
  • Component Function. Responsible for oversight of the new design component qualification. Include Tooling analysis. Parts Quality and Compliance check.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge in New product development (PMP) process.
  • Strong knowledge in the Software Quality Management (SCM) management and architecture build.
  • Expertise and/or knowledge with any of the following:
    • New manufacturing production line setup.
    • Project management.
    • Circuit board manufacturing process.
    • New Product Design DFM/DFX. FMEA, Control Plan.
    • Lean manufacturing.
    • Parts Commodity management.
    • Product Cost Management.
    • MS Office (Power Point, Excel, Word)
    • Problem Solving Tool's (ie. FMEA, DOE, Quality Tools)
    • 6 Sigma. (Green Belt certificated and Black Belt Training certificated)
  • Excellent experience working in a cross-functional culture and communicating with executive leadership.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering/Technology or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
    • Effective Process & Organization skills, ability to manage multiple Key Initiatives
    • PC and business software - word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and project management tools
    • Complex Project Management skills/toolset
    • Strong Communication Skills - Ability to communicate w/Executive & Key Stakeholders
    • New Product Development and Introduction Experience
    • Advanced Manufacturing Training/Experience (Lean, Six-Sigma)
