Job Description Summary:
PayPal Corporate Finance team is looking for a highly driven individual with strong execution and financial analysis experience to help with setting and executing the credit funding strategy for PayPal. This role reports to the Director of Capital Strategy. The successful candidate will drive decision making around allocation of PayPal's capital, recommend funding strategies, and seamlessly execute related capital markets, financial, and/or strategic transactions.

Job Description:

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop part of the funding strategy for PayPal's credit portfolio, working and collaborating with internal stakeholders
  • Identify and evaluate funding options based on specific objectives and criteria, and present recommendation(s) to management
  • Work closely with Credit and Strategic Finance teams to build business cases and financial models by determining impact on cash flow and providing financial insights on funding in support of new initiatives requiring capital
  • Quantify impact of funding plan on long term liquidity, financing needs, and credit ratings
  • Own the credit capital cash model used to analyze funding and capital allocation options and support team's recommendations
  • Structure and execute capital market, financial, or strategic transactions corresponding to approved funding plan; lead and coordinate cross-functional deal teams within PayPal as well as serve as a primary point of contact to investor(s)/partners
  • Identify, assess, and select the right funding partners; negotiate deal terms on funding and perform appropriate economic analysis to support final decisions
  • Conduct corporate credit analysis on existing partners and potential new relationships
  • Define and manage related financial risks on the balance sheet; recommend and execute strategies to manage such risks
  • Collaborate with Treasury and FP&A teams to forecast PayPal's capital and financing needs
  • Lead and deliver ad hoc analysis and presentations as requested by senior management
  • Manage funding-related financial performance measurement metrics for PayPal's credit business to drive efficiency around allocation of capital / invested dollars by communicating actionable insights to key stakeholders
  • Build reporting infrastructure related to the above responsibilities.

Job Requirements:
  • 10+ years in Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Strategic Planning, or similar area
  • Skilled at leading large and complex financial or strategic transactions
  • Experience with building and running complex financial models
  • Great at working effectively with internal groups from disparate disciplines outside of span of control, and passionate about building strong working relationships across all stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present to all levels of an organization, and impeccably skilled at translating numbers into a concise and lively story
  • Ability to operate in a highly complex cross-functional matrixed organization structure to drive direction, decision making, and priorities
  • Strategic thinker who can easily identify what is best for the organization
  • Team player, who is pro-active and action oriented, anticipates needs, organized, assertive, and highly accountable
  • Maintains highest standard of professional and ethical behavior, with high integrity, and operates with a diverse and inclusive mindset
  • MBA and/or CFA preferred
