Job Summary

The Global Medical Information (MI) Senior Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that global and/or regional MI content is accurate, unbiased, balanced, and provided in a timely manner in response to unsolicited medical inquiries regarding Otsuka products from healthcare professionals. The Global MI Senior Manager may also have responsibility for being the brand lead for a mature Otsuka product.

Job Description

  • Assure the safe and effective use of Otsuka products by providing accurate, balanced and up-to-date information to our customers in a timely manner
  • Assist with the management of all regional medical information daily activities related to the designated product(s)/therapeutic area(s) including receiving, documenting, and responding to medical inquiries
  • Research and respond to complex and/or escalated medical inquiries from healthcare professionals, consumers, or internal colleagues
  • Analyze and evaluate medical literature to assist with the development of global medical information content
  • Develop and maintain a current database of global/regional Scientific Response Documents (SRDs) to ensure consistent responses for global products
  • Responsible for continually updating global and/or regional Medical Information Response Documents) with current literature for designated products/therapeutic areas
  • Participate in the review and approval process for global and/or regional scientific response documents.
  • Remain current on all published medical literature for designated brand and subsequently performs a critical analysis to determine relevance of that data for inclusion into SRDs
  • Participate in Medical Review Committee (MRC) to review and approve field medical affairs content in the Veeva system
  • Identify, and obtain initial information regarding any product complaint or adverse event and handle in accordance with policy and procedures
  • Establish and develop a strong working relationship with cross functional teams and act as a therapy area expert
  • Serve as an educational resource for both internal and external customers
  • Assist with the review of the AMCP dossier to ensure medical accuracy as needed
  • Conduct training to sales personnel regarding appropriate submission of unsolicited medical inquiries as needed
  • Contribute to departmental projects
  • Provide assistance and/or training to other medical information personnel (i.e. managers, consultants)
  • Attends external medical conferences to represent Otsuka and staffs the Medical Information booth


Qualifications

Required
  • Pharm.D, PhD or Medicine/Life Sciences Degree with a minimum of 3-4 years experience in clinical practice or pharmaceutical industry
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Medical Information
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Excellent medical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, can lead projects, multi-task, deliver on commitments and work with multidisciplinary teams

Preferred
  • Residency/fellowship related to Medical Information
  • Proficient in Information Request Management System (IRMS)
  • Relevant therapeutic knowledge in Neuroscience, Nephrology or medical devices
