SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Manager of Live Production to oversee breeder, growout, feedmill and hatchery operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of poultry production processes to ensure optimal performance in terms of quality, efficiency, and profitability.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement strategic plans for breeder, growout, feedmill and hatchery operations aligned with overall organizational goals.
• Identify opportunities for expansion, efficiency improvement, and cost reduction.

Operational Leadership:

• Provide leadership and direction to breeder, growout, feedmill and hatchery production teams.
• Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.

Production Optimization:

• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for growout and hatchery operations.
• Implement initiatives to optimize production efficiency, minimize downtime, and enhance overall performance.

Quality Control:

• Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures in both growout and hatchery processes.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Staff Management:

• Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting professional growth and development.

Budget Management:

• Develop and manage budgets breeder, growout, feedmill and hatchery operations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality production standards.

Continuous Improvement:

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, technology utilization, and overall operational efficiency.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production planning, processing plant, procurement, sales, and marketing, to ensure seamless integration of production processes with overall business objectives.

Biosecurity and Animal Welfare:

• Ensure strict adherence to biosecurity protocols in breeder, growout, feedmill and hatchery operations.
• Uphold high standards of animal welfare and husbandry practices.

Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Stay updated on changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Extensive eight (8) plus years experience in poultry production management, with a focus on both growout and hatchery operations. Live poultry preferred.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of poultry health, nutrition, and biosecurity practices.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic plans for production optimization.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to navigate and supervise operations in various environments, including breeder, growout, feedmill and hatchery facilities.
• Physical fitness and ability to travel as needed.
• Must use safe lifting techniques.
• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms balance stoop talk or hear.
• The team member must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.

Other Requirements:

• Computer Skills: Standard skills are required. This position requires in working with Excel spreadsheets and data within several other computer applications.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to converse about their business in an environment containing senior leaders involving a group setting.
• Personal Protective Equipment Required: When visiting facilities is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
• Biosecurity: When visiting jobsites biosecure environments showering before entering the facilities is required. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsites except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species chickens, ducks, and birds. The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.
• Supervisory: 15-20 plus salaried team members.
• Travel: Will be required to travel to all breeder, growout, feedmill and hatchery facilities within the specified region. Outside the region up to 10-12 times a year.

A fit candidate will have to relocate to Gonzales, TX or at least 50 miles near the location
