Major Areas of Accountability

  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing production and fabrication functions
  • Collaboratively utilize lean tools and experience to increase throughput by changing processes
  • Provide for a safe working environment on the shop floor.
  • Prepare and administer operating budgets for the respective manufacturing departments.
  • Drive continuous improvement on the plant floor and bring creative solutions to fruition
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Directs, plans, and coordinates related activities to optimize manufacturing processes including safety, productivity, product quality, facility utilization, people utilization, and inventory management within budget and time requirements.
  • Analyzes reports on operation activities, performance and results; initiates actions to correct deviations and variables related to cost and/or schedule overruns, and other performance issues.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost to prevent operational delays.
  • Performs required human resource activities (e.g., recruiting, coaching, counseling, performance management, development etc.).
  • Reviews weekly production schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations and meet shipping schedule deadlines.
  • Develops value streams and identifies launch areas and timelines.
  • Leads new product introduction activities and processes

Specialized Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Manufacturing Management, lean six sigma; familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Drive for excellence and passion to win with a high degree of integrity
  • Fundamental software skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (e.g., QAD/SAP/Oracle)
  • Superb verbal and written communications.
  • Working to advanced knowledge of refrigeration systems and fabrication/assembly processes
  • Ability to coach and mentor supervisors and staff to develop professional and managerial skill sets
