The Sr. Manager of Purchasing is responsible for planning, organizing and directing purchasing activities while delivering a favorable total cost of ownership and a high quality procurement of Capex, Facility Services and MRO materials which meet the needs of Benjamin Moore. In addition, the role is responsible for the management of the company's R&D facility for procurement related activities as well as key IT spend areas. The candidate will negotiate commercial and service contracts, in alignment with corporate policy, which ensure competitive pricing and overall total cost of ownership and which fully protect the company against missed deliveries, shortages, poor quality, and other performance issues that might adversely impact Benjamin Moore.

The candidate will partner with internal customers (e.g. Operations, Engineering, IT and R&D) to develop multiple sources of supply and drive cost savings and supply chain efficiencies.

The Sr. Manager will lead a team of 4 staff members to achieve stated goals and objectives within the categories noted above Essential Duties 30% Manage contractual commitments and supplier assessments, ensuring all purchases consistent with quality and delivery requirements.

15% Negotiate with suppliers for execution of Agreements that achieve lowest total cost and which are in accordance with company policies and procedures. Develop and manage RFx's.

20% Analyze, develop and deliver timely cost information. Maintain metrics for reporting and communicating Procurement activities.

15% Work with the Benjamin Moore organization (R&D, Manufacturing, IT, Facilities, etc.) to lead supply based projects which mitigate business risk and drive efficiencies.

10% Develop supply base; forecast market changes; develop and recommend alternative sourcing.

10% Develop category sourcing strategies, which include competitive intelligence, and are aligned with business objectives.

* Master's Degree preferred * CPSM recommended * Minimum of 7 plus years' experience in procurement, with emphasis on spend areas such as IT, MRO, Capital Equipment & Facilities Management * Industrial manufacturing and/or Business Management experience preferred * Experienced in the use of SAP and Ariba to include analytics, catalogs and contracts Dimensions * No of direct reports: 4

* Travel Requirements: 20% ( Supplier visits/ Conferences)
