Job Summary:

In this role, you will be instrumental in building best-in-class manufacturing operational practices in support of producing the next generation of water infrastructure products that deliver clean and safe drinking water to communities across North America. Our manufacturing technologies spans across the value chain from casting, machining, and assembly to manufacture current state of the art and next-generation IoT products to monitor, alert, and inform operators of real-time conditions within their clean water distribution network.

Across these processes, the ideal candidate will collaborate and support our plant teams in sustaining and continuously improving the effectiveness of Mueller's Quality Management System.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Sustain & improve Quality leadership collaboration across Mueller plant teams

  • Supports all ISO Certifications, Recertification's, and Non-conformance reviews to ensure corporate QMS conformance to ISO 9001:2015 standards.

  • Develops and executes corrective action plans for any identified non-conformances

  • Supports 3rd party external audits/review's at plants, as needed

  • Drives standard utilization, maintenance, and continuously improvement of internal tool for Corrective Action Reporting, tracking, & closure

  • Maintains master risk-based internal audit schedule across plants, and coordinates cross-plant resource auditing support plan where possible

  • Augment internal audit support for plants, as needed

  • Develop & maintain proactive KPIs that gage efficacy of QMS to drive improvement in operational metrics

  • Lead ongoing QMS continuous improvement & optimization

  • Leveraged and viewed as Quality SME across plants

  • Performs other related duties related to Quality:

    • Problem Definition & Solving

    • APQP (Quality chain, PPAP, etc)

    • Quality Tools (ie. FMEA, 8D, etc)

    • Training


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years in Quality discipline

  • 5+ years in manufacturing plant(s) environment

  • Strong experience & background with ISO 9001:2015 standards

  • Demonstrated success of implementation of business process & change management within a plant or across multiple plants

  • Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams

  • Proven track record of consistently meeting goals and objectives

  • Advanced proficiency in MS office Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Ability to support frequent travel to plant locations & HQ as required.

  • Lean Sigma Experience

  • Position may be located in Atlanta, GA, Chattanooga, TN, Albertville, AL, or Decatur, IL


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with central functional support across multi-plant network

  • Excellent service leadership skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with plant teams at all levels

  • Direct experience leading ISO certification

  • Lean Sigma Black Belt qualification

  • Ability to translate strategic direction(s) into actionable and demonstrable results

  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
