We are looking for our next Senior Trade Compliance Analyst for our growing Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team as Brooks continues to accelerate its growth journey.

The Brooks GTC function reports directly to the CFO. This new Senior Trade Compliance Analyst role will join the outstanding GTC team to partner cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring Brooks conducts its international trade legally and efficiently. Brooks GTC places heavy emphasis on problem resolution and strategic improvement projects.

This role is preferred to be on-site/hybrid in Chelmsford, MA. Brooks will consider full-remote depending on the skill set and circumstances of candidates.

This role is a full-time position strongly envisioned for professional development and promotion, based on a track record of team contribution.

What you'll do:

  • Utilize report-based compliance monitoring programs using Oracle GTM, government data, screening systems, and advanced Excel techniques to prioritize work and perform compliance monitoring
  • Train and update cross-functional GTM processes and use Oracle GTM to automate export compliance decisions such as screening and export block-release decisions
  • Identify and recommend Oracle GTM process improvements, help design, test, implement, and improve other trade automation processes and software
  • Respond to business partner inquiries for trade compliance related information and recommend service provider controls to improve efficiency, including programs such as export declarations, ECCN/dual-use classification, sanctions and watch list screening, drawback, 301 tariffs, ADCVD, and forced-labor
  • Assist to design and drive a systematic transactional monitoring program for accuracy of import and export activity
  • Perform complex HTSUS and ECCN classifications
  • Participate in US and global import/export compliance risk assessments and the development of trade policies and procedures
  • Other trade compliance projects that regularly arise in today's dynamic trade regulatory environment

What you'll bring:

Our preferences for a successful candidate for this new role are based on our envisioned long-term Trade Compliance professional development in the Brooks GTC function. The capabilities we seek include the following:
  • At least two years of experience managing Oracle GTM (preferred), SAP GTS, or similar trade automation programs
  • Approximately four years of experience in a large multinational Trade Compliance environment focusing on core Trade Compliance subject matter such as import and/or export regulations, HTSUS, ECCNs, values, transaction monitoring, compliance training, and the like. Experience in the semiconductor supply-chain industry a strong plus.
  • Moderate to high level of Excel skills, preferably including using vLookup, Pivot tables, and other techniques to perform comparative analysis
  • A passion and knack for process improvement and creative problem-solving
  • Ability to communicate trade compliance requirements and options to non-trade compliance personnel
  • Strong verbal and written communication English; Chinese a strong plus (also Korean, Japanese, or Malay)
  • A four-year degree is preferred, especially if in a related field, though not a strict requirement
