SUMMARY: This position may be responsible for any of the following duties: planning and supervising the execution of cost effective and timely maintenance necessary for the operation of all equipment; this includes directing, coordinating, and supporting maintenance personnel; working with contractors, vendors, or company engineering in the modification or installation of equipment; troubleshooting and resolving new and/or different technical problems regarding equipment. Other responsibilities include: maintaining relevant records and ensuring OSHA standards and programs are implemented; instructing in the use of personal protective equipment; implementing new ways of improving ergonomics within the facility; coordinating Team Member schedules and handling clock reports and attendance records; holding monthly safety meetings; performing other responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Education beyond high school, including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses.

Experience: 3 + years' maintenance experience in Fresh Meats Industry preferred. Knowledge of edible and inedible rendering process equipment preferred. Electrical experience strongly preferred

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office.

Communication Skills: Good communication skills; ability to direct the workforce with clear and precise directions.

Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.

Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and walk on hard, wet, and slippery surfaces for long periods of time, crouch, squat, climb stairs and ladders, and occasionally crawl. Must be able to repetitively lift (occasionally overhead), push, pull, and carry 60 pounds individually and more with assistance. Must be able to continuously and repetitively grasp, reach, pinch, and hold small, medium, and large sized objects frequently. Must be able to work in hot and/or cold, humid, wet, environment.
