Motion Technologies is one of four ITT Value Centers focused on the Transportation industry. The Motion Technologies Value Center generates over $862M in revenues and is made up of three businesses.

Position Summary:

Shop Supervisor is responsible for the following: Ensuring safety, quality, and delivery standards and objectives are achieved. Oversee assigned associates and equipment for optimized process efficiencies. Facilitate superior individual performance and foster a team environment. Prepare and support production plans to establish priorities and sequences for efficient work. Create standards of work to be followed by others. Perform hands-on tasks, alongside direct reports, for assembly or disassembly of a variety of parts.

This position is based in Hebron, KY USA.
Essential Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and adjust schedules and capacity on a weekly basis to hit production targets; Create production schedule and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Create standards of work to ensure work is completed safely and meets customer standards.
  • Understand and follow company policies; enforce workers adhere to all regulations, policies and best practices. Coaches and disciplines employees.
  • Develops training program for new employees and trains them; Train existing employees on new processes.
  • Ensure employees work in a safe manner, according to regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure employees comply with all environmental requirements.
  • Conduct weekly floor inspections; Recommend and implement improvement plans.
  • Recommend and implement ways to improve shop flow, employee performance, equipment performance, employee knowledge and quality of product.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist in solving work problems.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve job goals.
  • Perform tasks of direct reports regularly to ensure production schedule is met.
  • Record and report production counts and time information as requested.
  • Use a variety of precision measuring instruments, fixtures or holding devices, drill and punch presses and riveting machines and, material handling equipment.
  • Ensure quality standards are followed.

Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Knowledge of basic computer and keyboard use. Ability to operate calculators and weighing scales.

Previous experience as a production supervisor or team lead is preferred.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
