GENERAL NATURE OF JOB:

The Manager of Supply Chain is responsible for leading the supply chain activities for the business that they are assigned. Key activities include development of the supply chain team, efficient and cost effective procurement of operationally required materials and vendor relationship management. The manager will also lead strategic global sourcing, risk mitigation and opportunity propagation in an effort to assist in enhancing performance and growth of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and leads supply chain team in a fashion that provides excellent customer service internally and externally. Assessing, developing and affectively utilizing talent are key components of this role.
  • Coordinates efforts with other disciplines throughout the organization to assure for affective process flow and active communication. This will require continuous focus on strategic direction and business requirements, including effective feedback mechanisms. Materials management, operations and finance will be key interfaces with the procurement team.
  • Leads strategic sourcing activities for the business or businesses assigned. This will include domestic and offshore activities. Brings forward potential opportunities to the product management teams.
  • Facilitates activities with engineering and other departments in the clarification and development of clear and concise purchasing specifications for materials, products and equipment. Lead liaison between vendors and the organization in communicating these specifications.
  • Leads negotiations with vendors in an effort to gain the required service levels at a price point that enhances organizational profitability. This will include long and short-term contracts regarding; products, materials, utilities, software, capital equipment and other essential products and services. Maintaining systems to provide actionable feedback to suppliers are integral to their effectiveness.
  • Leads supply chain team in identifying risk mitigation requirements. Facilitates organizational activities to mitigating risk. This may include second sourcing, inventory arrangements or material obsolescence activities.


  • Maintains overall surveillance and integrity of statutory and/or Rubber Fab systems process and audit requirements. Recommends additions or modifications to overall purchasing procedures and/or methods to improve standardization and functionality.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply chain management or equivalent.
  • Certified supply chain professional with ISM or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience in leading strategic and tactical supply chain activities or equivalent experience in leading operationally focused teams.
  • Some international sourcing experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and ERP operating systems
