Supply Chain Sourcing Analyst

Full Time - 7:30a-4p

Job Summary:

Under the management of the Sourcing and Procurement Manager, The Sourcing Analyst develops sourcing strategies and partners with supply chain teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to achieve continuity of supplies while driving continuous improvement, and cost deduction. The Sourcing Analyst will identify opportunities and develop and execute sourcing action plans to maximize optimal outcomes. He/she will develop and maintain proactive relationships with Medical Staff, Leadership, and interfacing departments.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain or strategic sourcing with proven project management experience. Knowledge of products, services and capital in a healthcare setting strongly preferred.
Preferred Education requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to manipulate data and use software typically used in supply chain and manufacturing.
  • Strong negotiation skills; able to structure agreements for purchased services, products and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong project management skills with emphasis on supply chain management.
  • Good Interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence/attain buy-in from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond rapidly to changing priorities.
  • Ability to use Lead Principles - Performance Improvement initiatives.
  • Strong of knowledge of medical equipment, and supplies.
  • Ability to evaluate non-value-added activities and recommend cost reductions.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Establishes sourcing strategies relating to prioritization and planning of contracting and cost reduction activities.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains purchasing policies and procedures to ensure optimal supply inventory, cost efficiencies and standardization of required supplies.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to develop specifications, requests bids for proposals, to place and review bids to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Maximizes goal achievement while complying with, contracts, regulatory agencies, and legal requirements.
  • Manage sourcing strategies to maximize quality and value in a way that includes all stakeholders; maintains integrity and objectively in the process ensuring quality is never compromised for cost reduction.
  • Maintains communication with customers and suppliers pending approval of products of services.
  • Manage contracts and suppler performance to ensure commitments are met.
  • Monitors budget variances responds according to variance type (i.e. quality, timing, service, etc.).
  • Leads negotiations to secure optimum pricing, quantity, and delivery.
  • Partners with appropriate teams to manage backorders and identify sufficient substitute products if applicable.
  • Manages sourcing activities related to contracts entered into the electronic contract management system. Supports this process from the supply chain perspective.
  • Coordinates the creation of purchase orders for new contracts and/or implementation of newly contracted supplied and equipment.
  • Initiates the process for loading new supply contracts into the system. Partners with Materials IT analyst to build and maintain item information in the MMIS System.
  • Provides input to determine appropriate membership and representation for Value Analysis teams and initiatives.
  • Ensures stakeholders are informed on Strategic Sourcing ability to reduce cost and improve performance.
  • Effectively utilizes data to identify and lead implementation opportunities, while keeping the goal of best practice as the priority.
  • Uses GPO and benchmarking to perform data analysis to support process activities.
  • Partners with Value Analysis in coordination, evaluation, implementation for clinical products and services. Provides assistance with new product requests and establishing appropriate evaluation criteria and complies results for presentation to Value Analysis teams.
  • Leads reduction in cost of ownership for Capital acquisitions through pricing negotiation ancillary cost reduction through service and consumable agreements.
  • Assist in the coordination and evaluations for clinical and non-clinical products and services.
  • Provides financial information as needed for Budget Process.
  • Maintains professional growth and assists with growth of others with in area of responsibility.
