MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Where will you work: Onsite at Carlsbad, NM an underground potash mine (1361 Potash Mines Road - Carlsbad, NM 88220)

The Maintenance Engineer will provide general engineering services to the Maintenance group. Research equipment reliability issues and document corrective actions.Manage improvement projects as assigned to improve asset reliability and support the maintenance teams.

What you'll do?

• Ensure regulatory, corporate, and site safety standards are followed through the implementation of safety and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to achieve results in alignment with mission objectives. This includes workplace behavior observations, risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective action and cause mapping/RCFA for system improvement.
• Research new and innovative eqt/processes to improve maintenance function.
• Manage improvement projects as required.
• Apply PdM, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA/Cause Map, and Failure Effects.

What you'll need:

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering required.
• MS Office, Internet, scheduling, computer-based purchasing systems and timekeeping systems skills required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
• Good problem-solving skills and creative approach for new ideas required.
• Good team working skills required.
• The ability to prioritize and plan effectively required.
• A high level of computer literacy particularly computer-aided design required.
• Good commercial awareness required.
• The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines required.
