Job Summary:

The Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine, in conjunction with the University of Colorado Hospital, is recruiting a fellowship-trained Surgical Oncologist to join the Division of Surgical Oncology for a full-time (1.0 FTE) position available at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor.

We have a busy Surgical Oncology practice that offers a broad range of general to complex cases involving benign and malignant conditions of the liver, pancreas and the biliary tree, malignancies of the esophagus, stomach, colon and rectum, melanoma and sarcoma. Most patients are managed in multidisciplinary clinics. This particular position is to serve as a full-time surgeon in a community-based facility in South Denver.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Assistant Professor:

    Board Eligible or Certification in General Surgery and Complex Surgical Oncology Completion of Complex Surgical Oncology Fellowship (ACGME accredited) Ability to obtain license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado with prescriptive privileges by the time of hire Medical Degree from an accredited school of medicine

Associate Professor:
    Board Certification in General Surgery and Complex Surgical Oncology Completion of Complex Surgical Oncology Fellowship (ACGME accredited) Ability to obtain license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado with prescriptive privileges by the time of hire Current or past faculty appointment as an Assistant or Associate Professor in an academic medical institution. 4+ years' experience in Surgical Oncology Medical Degree from an accredited school of medicine

Professor:
    Board Certification in General Surgery Completion of Surgical Oncology Fellowship Ability to obtain license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado with prescriptive privileges by the time of hire Current or past faculty appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor in an academic medical institution. 7+ years' experience in Surgical Oncology Medical Degree from an accredited school of medicine

Preferred Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the development of a general surgical oncology practice in a community setting
  • Interest in development of a multidisciplinary clinic focused in gastrointestinal cancers that is community based
  • The candidate should also demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $287,000 - $352,561

Associate Professor: $338,422 - $392, 387

Professor: $388,605 - $487,479

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
