Basic Duties of the Swing and Overnight Technician include the following:

  • Greeting clients, assisting clients in person and over the phone
  • Inputting accurate and detailed data
  • Generating invoices and processing payments
  • Perform patient restraint for exams and other diagnostics.
  • Assists both clients and patient - lifting, Q & A, cleaning up after pets etc.
  • Observes and maintains the cleanliness and well- being of hospitalized patients; communicates updates on patients to clinician staff.
  • Assists doctors and fellow nurses with procedures.
  • Triage, TPR and weighs patients at time of admittance along with updating information on hospitalized patients.
  • Patient care and treatments on hospitalized animals.
  • Prepares and serves food to patients as instructed.
  • Records patient observations on the treatment sheet.
  • Performs blood draws, IV catheters, assists with ultrasounds, x-rays, treatments, and examinations.
  • Prepares laboratory samples for courier pick up and runs in house lab work.
  • Filling prescriptions, discharging patients and reviewing discharge instructions, client education.
  • Maintains clean treatment tables and work spaces so that they can accommodate the next patient.
  • Assists in surgery when needed.
  • Monitor patients undergoing anesthesia for procedures such as laceration repairs, endoscopy, as well as emergent cases for after hours surgery.
  • Helps to maintain hospital organization and cleanliness.
