Overview

SUMMARY

Bering Straits Information Tech (BSIT), a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified System Technologist/Security Tech for the ALMR located in Anchorage AK. This position is in support of the Alaska Land mobile Radio Maintenance and Operation.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains configuration management of the ALMR radios within the Motorola Astro 25 Trunked Integrated Voice and Data System records.
• Reporting Requirements using the Motorola PRNM Suite and Genesis Gen Watch3 reporting systems.
• Implements network security.
• Monitors system security.
• Verifies application results.
• Establishes system access.
• Installation and configuration of client workstations on the LAN.
• Establishes system safeguards for disaster preparedness.
• Opens and Closes ALMR work orders.
• Other specific requirements for system operations and security.
• Maintains ALMR Help desk functions and responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO's)

• Minimum four years' experience of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment.
• Understand Windows Operating System; Systems Architecture and Network Support.
• Understands VMware/Vsphere Systems.
• Security+ certification required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software and other equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant call tracking applications.
• Knowledge and experience with customer service practices.
• Maintain current and accurate ADPE accountability

Preferred

• Security Clearance at the secret level
• Help desk experience
• Quality Management experience
• Customer service experience

NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is performed in a typical office environment. Minimal lifting of up to 30 lbs. may be required.

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

• No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
