UHealth IT has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer1, experienced with Cardiology PACS / DICOM, EKG systems, and Cardiology workflows. The Systems Engineer 1 manages the day-to-day operations of relevant equipment, including image workflow, archiving, auto routing, prefetching, and other related activities. This employee coordinates projects with the departments and hospital clinical staff to ensure effective security management across systems and with other institutional applications. This position requires related experience in the design, development, and maintenance of interface programming that is necessary to exchange data securely, accurately, and reliably between multiple systems, databases, web services, and file systems.

  • Manages and coordinates system security to ensure that unauthorized personnel cannot access vital information.
  • Ensures that studies are flowing from modalities to the archive and reading stations through the various interfaces and processing queues.
  • Performs testing for upgrades and problem-solving during implementations, simulations, and support phases.
  • Provide on-premises hardware, network, OS and software support for department computers/servers, working collaboratively with various IT teams as needed. Maintain device inventory documentation.
  • Oversees activities of vendors, in all phases of installation and implementation, and monitors training for new systems, applications, and upgrades.
  • Remediate HL7 interface errors.
  • Maintains proficiency and certification with the integration technologies required and the application systems assigned.
  • Maintains reliable performance of the integration environment for systems pertaining to medical imagining.
  • Serves as a technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of applications systems analysis and programming.
  • Ensures all interfaces are using appropriate standards and record transaction formats.
  • Performs analysis to test, develop, modify, and adapt application systems, hardware configurations, and interface programs.
  • Assists with upgrades to maintain the system at optimal performance.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Cardiology PACS / DICOM, EKG systems, and Cardiology workflows preferred.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Commitment to the University's core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
