Job Summary:

Systems Engineer responsible as the Lead System Engineer for a product line and new product developments. Works with product lines and customers to ensure product requirements and priorities are met. This includes cooperating with other system engineers in the successful completion of their responsibilities. Overall responsibility to ensure that all product line efforts follow established processes and comply with approved requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary customer contact for technical issues
  • Perform appropriate system analysis, requirements management, risk analysis, and system architecture reviews
  • Capture and management of customer requirements
  • Development and management of system requirements
  • Evaluate test coverage and adequate testing of system requirements
  • Evaluate suitability of release of products for use in the field.
  • Work with technical disciplines on root cause analysis
  • Maintain system level documentation
  • Follow engineering processes and standards
  • Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS degree in a technical discipline and minimum 7 years engineering experience with 3 years system engineering/project engineering experience
  • Effective communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely
  • Requirements management tools experience (e.g., TestTrack RM, IBM DOORS, RequisitePro, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a very fast pace dynamic environment with daily adjustments to priorities and time to meet the needs of the organization

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of software configuration and change management, continuous integration and automated testing processes
  • Experience with C or C++ programming and embedded software development is a plus
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies such as Scrum is a plus
  • Understanding of system test and test automation is a plus
  • Knowledge of safety critical software or CENELEC standards is a plus
  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems is a plus
  • Experience with rail industry is a plus
