Receiving general direction from the Team Lead Infrastructure, the Systems Support Analyst is responsible for technical support of personal computers, applications and users in the Department of Radiation Oncology. Provides coverage during treatment hours, which includes some evening hours.

Supports computer hardware and software for clinical and research applications in radiation oncology and medical physics. Installs computer hardware, software and configures personal computers to run software efficiently. Supports commercial and public domain software as well as software developed in the Department. Maintains, modifies or enhances existing software for new environments (e.g. new hardware, operating system) to provide greater functionality or ease of use. Troubleshoots and resolves problems with software.

Supports computer systems used to deliver radiation therapy treatment to patients and provides on-site coverage of technical issues during treatment hours. This may include significant work on evenings and possibly weekends to cover extended treatment shifts.

Installs and configures personal computers and peripherals. Troubleshoots and resolves computer hardware problems, either by performing repairs directly or interfacing with other resources to effect repairs.

Integrates computer software and hardware from different vendors to provide functionality. Performs network configuration and integration so different components can communicate efficiently.

Assists users in use of personal computers, digital devices such as tablets and phones and related software. Performs troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Investigates new computer tools and techniques, provides recommendations on adopting new technologies for Department applications.

Must develop a basic understanding of radiation therapy and medical physics methods. This includes knowledge of treatment planning, treatment delivery and medical terminology.

Will be expected to be part of on-call rotation for computer support coverage, and to be available evenings and weekends as required for upgrades, installations and support.

Assists in system maintenance duties such as system backup, organizing disk and tape storage, supporting printers and other peripherals.

Log support calls with status updates and resolution information in the groups Call Tracker tool and attend regularly scheduled meetings with the Team Lead Infrastructure.

Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications
CompTIA A+ certification required, Bachelor's Degree in a scientific or technical field, preferably Computer Science preferred. Training or experience in installing, configuring and supporting personal computers in a networked environment.
