Get to Know This Role

The Tasting Room Cook is responsible for set up/break down, food production, quality control and consistency of all food items prepared in the Torpedo Room. Tasting Room Cook is in charge of daily food production, weekly ordering, and receiving and rotation of product. As part of the Torpedo Room team, the Tasting Room Cook maintains a clean and sanitary facility.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare all food in accordance to standard recipes and plating guides
  • Check and control proper storage of product and portion controlling
  • Keep all refrigeration, storage, and working areas in clean, working condition to comply with health department regulations
  • Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean and in proper working condition
  • Keep floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents
  • Assist the team with recycling and waste removal
  • Perform opening and closing duties as assigned
  • Wash plates/glasses and any other items/tools used in food service and preparation
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as cross-training, moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc.

  • 1 year Commercial kitchen experience required
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Consistent and reliable attendance record
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to consistently perform quality work, quickly, in an environment that is often full of distractions
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in close quarters
  • CA Food Handler's Card upon hire required
Additional Requirements to Consider Before Applying
  • You must be at least 21 years of age to work for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
  • Selected candidate must pass a pre-employment, post offer background check.
