Job Description Summary:
At PayPal, we believe in the power of building developer focused products to unlock our next phase of growth in Commerce and Payments. We are seeking a talented Technical Product Manager Intern passionate about building best in class payment experiences. In this role you will be responsible for defining the next generation of PayPal's APIs and/or SDKs and own multiple assets that enable rich experiences via web, mobile web and native interfaces. You will work with the Developer Community, Global Professional Services, Sales and Integration Engineering to define and deliver world-class experiences for customers globally. Although the exact nature of the project will depend on the timing of the Intern program some of the areas on immediate focus are:
•Drop-in Capabilities to build robust and high performing payment experiences.
•Orders / Vault API - Competitor analysis and recommendation for future enhancement.
•KPIs for APIs - Building a strategy for a common set of analytics/framework for KPIs for APIs
•Strategy for Integration Platform as a Service.

Job Description:

Requirements:

  • We welcome experienced engineers, solution engineers, architects, professional services and others with experience in APIs and/or SDKs looking to switch career into Product Management.
  • Understanding of managing technology focused products (SaaS, APIs, SDKs, Infrastructure, Platform) in an Agile SCRUM environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt your message to the technical level of the audience (developers, product managers andsenior business leaders).
  • Have a strong degree of technical fluency that allows you to communicate with and understand your target audience (developers), translating their needs into clear product strategy and deliver on them.
  • Must be currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited university.
Responsibilities (depends on the project):
  • Ability to do competitive analysis to inform areas of improvement or trends that we can learn from.
  • Gain an "outside-in" perspective by speaking with a cross-section of developers and/or internal client facing teams with a goal to build a case to continuously evolve the client interfaces.
  • Provide the right level of support and direction to keep the engineering team working efficiently and aligned with the overall product strategy.
  • Participate in regular cadences (stand up's, retrospective, planning meeting) and be engaged with the team throughout the product life cycle.
  • Engage with teams (Sales, Marketing, Professional Services) across PayPal to help Pilot and Launch enhancements / improvements with a goal towards improving adoption.

Internship Program Information and Requirements:

  • This is a Summer 2023 Internship program. Spring and Fall 2023 internships are not available.
  • Must be returning to school in the Fall of 2023.
  • Must reside in the U.S. during the Summer internship program.
  • Must be able to obtain authorization to work in the U.S. for the summer.

The U.S. national hourly pay range for this role is $16 to $55.
