Dow has an opportunity for a Senior TS&D Technician located in Collegeville, PA.

This role is for a Senior TS&D Technician position in the Dow Coating Materials Sales Service Architectural team, reporting to Andrea Greyson.

This individual will provide thoughtful technical support to scientists in the preparation and execution of experiments. Their work will provide technical, lab support for customer products, new product development, application development, and technical service/product/process research.

Responsibilities / Duties

* Works as part of a team in a laboratory supporting chemists and engineers in developing, screening and commercializing new products.
* Manages and then safely executes laboratory work requests, maintaining and running relevant laboratory apparatus and testing equipment and documenting data.
* Develops experimental plans for review/approval by Lead Scientist, and executes approved plans by performing both routine and non-standard tasks/procedures of higher complexity.
* Achieves project goals using technical, role-specific skills and experience, and introduces new procedures for new instrument methods, equipment changes, or new equipment.
* Develops a specific expertise within the department and laboratory work group in specific procedures, equipment, or instruments.
* Acts responsible for calibration, safe operation and routine maintenance of simple and complex instruments, machinery, and system components, including production equipment.
* Updates personal knowledge for proper use of equipment via manuals and job aids, logs maintenance activities and calibration results as required.
* Communicates scientific observations to project team or principle investigator, and organizes and prepares data tables and charts for inclusion in supported studies.

The Dow Chemical Company does not offer relocation assistance for this position. This includes reimbursement for travel expenses incurred to and from test sessions/interviews. Required Qualifications:

* Must be 18 years old or older.
* A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
* Experience in a lab environment is preferred.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Good interpersonal skills are required.
* A passionate learner, willing to grow into new responsibilities over time.
* Strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
* Read, write, and speak English fluently.

Physical Requirements:

Must be willing and able to do the following with or without an accommodation:

* Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
* Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
* Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
* Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Education:

* A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
