About the job:

Under limited supervision, performs various clinical procedures and maintains related records. Provides general assistance to the cardiologists and sonographers. Work will include components of direct patient care, observation, documentation, transportation and general maintenance of the patient environment.

What you will do:
  • Performs and maintains records of equipment maintenance, carries out necessary quality control to insure that performance standards are satisfied.
  • Performs all responsibilities of a Telemetry Tech as required, including monitoring and analyzing telemetry strips by following established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to operate SpaceLab equipment:
  • Admissions will be set up with the patient's name, room number, code status, Pacemaker or ACID
  • Alarm limits set
  • Patient location will be placed on telemetry monitor when travelling off the unit
  • Utilization of EMR for proper patient identification.
  • Notifies Charge RN and patient's primary care RN of any heart rate or rhythm changes.
  • Recognizes and communicates issues/occurrences utilizing established lines of authority, and assists in identifying ways to resolve variances or unacceptable outcomes.
  • Actively participates in department meetings, committees, conferences, and in services.

What we are looking for:
  • Must have a high school diploma/GED or must be at least 16 years old and actively pursuing high school diploma.
  • Successful completion of a 75 hour Nursing Assistant Program (Certified Nurse Assistant) from an accredited school or a minimum of 2 years of EKG Tech or related experience in lieu of C.N.A program completion.
  • Must complete Mandatory Reporterwithin 3 months of hire date.
  • Must complete BLS within 3 months of hire date.
