**This is a temporary assignment expected to last until 3/1/2022**

Location: NGPC main office at 2200 North 33rd Street in Lincoln, Nebraska
Examples of Work
Design, direct and coordinate the implementation of an experimental two-tier system of duck hunting regulations in Nebraska and South Dakota. Candidate would coordinate directly with the waterfowl program managers of both Nebraska and South Dakota. Develop and implement a hunter diary and parts collection survey to obtain duck harvest estimates and duck species composition over the next 5-years. Evaluate the R3 (Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation) impacts of this new system by analyzing permit growth rates for waterfowl hunters in Nebraska and South Dakota. Analyze and interpret data for presentation at technical and public meetings. Produce grant and technical reports for dissemination to federal agencies and other technical committees at the Flyway level. Communicate with various conservation agencies, resource-oriented groups, the public, and the commission.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in fish or wildlife management or closely related field or equivalent experience in the field of biological science AND three years experience in fish or wildlife management or a closely related field; OR master's degree in fish or wildlife management or closely related field or equivalent experience in the field of biological science AND one year experience in fish and wildlife management or a closely related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of life history, ecology and conservation of waterfowl in the Central Flyway. Knowledge of experimental design, human dimensions, statistics, and the ability to synthesize and publish research results in reports and peer-reviewed journals. Administrative skills as related to strategic and operational planning, budgeting processes, cost accounting and contract negotiations. Ability to communicate effectively and develop and maintain professional relationships with government agencies, NGOs, universities, and the public.
