Job Description:


POSITION: The Tomfohrde Executive Director of Healthcare Pathways (Grant Funded); This is a one-year, full-time professional position



Summary: This position will oversee a strategic mapping process for a comprehensive healthcare pathway program with the objective of providing healthcare providers with a talented and trained workforce pool, while job seekers would be on a pathway to careers with sustainable wages, employment stability, and a mapped-out ladder of advancement opportunities.


The incumbent would need to work with healthcare educators, state and local officials and program accreditation bodies including, but not limited to, the DHE, DPH, BORN, ACEN, and CAAHEP, as well as administrators at hospitals and other healthcare agencies with the goal of a fully mapped out pathway that builds upon prior certificates and experience and enables upward mobility for employees; reduces recruiting, hiring, and training costs for healthcare facilities, and provides a sustainable method that allows for ease of use with a sustainable financial model. This will require work with partner facilities on timing, costs, and establishing ROI. The result will be an easily and clearly understood, attainable, and cost-effective pathway. Additionally, the incumbent would need to work with the division administration, faculty, program chairs and college governance committees to identify and facilitate any changes required in program pathways and curriculum.

By the conclusion of the project term, the incumbent will present an executable final report that details the specific academic changes that have occurred, partnerships and collaborations with healthcare facilities, and approved new pathways for education of the healthcare workforce. This final report will then be shared with other community colleges in Massachusetts to facilitate similar programs and collaborations across the Commonwealth.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Project Management 25%


  • Set and achieve program goals
  • Build timelines and structures for interactions with outside agencies
  • Coordinate needed meetings both within the college and outside agencies
  • Work with faculty chairs and program coordinators to identify what possibilities exist within their specific certificate and degree programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships across the NECC community and regional healthcare facilities.
  • Provide regular updates via executive summaries and check-ins to the Dean of Health Professions.

Curriculum Assessment and Recommendations 20%


  • Develop, and implement program pathways for certificate and degree programs that allows for the development of the healthcare workforce of the region.
  • Collaborate with the Division of Academic Affairs and the Academic Affairs committee
  • Construct, with the assistance of faculty chairs and program coordinators, pathways for scaffolding licensure programs that allows for increased opportunities for the healthcare workforce of the region.

Working with State Offices and Accreditation Bodies 25%


  • Create relationships with key stakeholders in the different governmental and accreditation offices (as needed).
  • Lobby for needed policy / rule changes needed (as identified) to facilitate implementation of the desired pathways

Partner Coordination 30%


  • Check-ins and planning with CEO's, creating budgets for execution of laddering, establishing MOAs.



Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master's degree and 10 or more years of related experience in higher education, healthcare administration, public health, nonprofit leadership, or similar.
  • Experience working with and sensitivity to diverse constituencies of various social identities (ethnic, racial, religious, economic, educational backgrounds and abilities, sexual orientation, and gender expression).
  • Ability to positively interact with a diverse population and uphold inclusive excellence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software. Familiarity with Internet search techniques.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship/environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative in carrying out assigned tasks reliably and accurately with only general direction.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial, personnel and payroll information.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience in project and program management
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong commitment to the professional development of healthcare workers; experience designing and implementing new training programs; experience working collaboratively with healthcare, community, government, academia, and other partners to initiate or implement a workforce skills training program.
  • Excellent coalition-building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience in strategic planning and plan implementation.
  • Experience and familiarity of MA community colleges.
  • Experience and familiarity with healthcare agencies.
  • Experience working with grant funding.
  • Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population.

Additional Information:


SALARY: This position is available as either a fully benefited non-unit professional or as an independent consultant. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
