About The Job:
The PRN therapist (Clinical Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor) performs assessments and therapy services primarily on the psychiatric inpatient units as well as other acute care units throughout the hospital. In addition to providing individual, family and group therapies in acute care areas, the PRN therapist also regularly performs Chemical Dependency Consults as requested and assists with discharge planning and recommendations when appropriate.

What we are looking for:
Education:
  • A Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Must be licensed or possess a (temporary) license as a Clinical Social Worker (LMSW or LISW) or Mental Health Counselor (tLMHC or LMHC) in the state of Iowa. If possessing a temporary license as a Mental Health Counselor, the applicant or colleague must be actively working toward obtaining full licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in Iowa and must obtain full licensure within 3 years of hire.
Experience:
  • Previous demonstrated competence in assessment and counseling is preferred.
  • Must be licensed or license eligible as a Clinical Social Worker or Mental Health in the state of Iowa.
