Job Description:
The Training & Development Specialist helps support the State Training & Development Team in their ongoing mission to provide top of line development opportunities for our fellow state public servants. Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating/developing both instructor led and on-demand courses, facilitate classes both in-person and virtually, provide excellent customer service, promote our learning opportunities to our fellow state public servants, and support our social media efforts

As a Training and Development Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering top-notch instructor-led and online learning experiences.

As part of this role, you'll collaborate with team members to deliver training sessions on various subjects including system procedures, human resources, and leadership topics. You'll also participate in ongoing instructional design activities, creating and revising online/on-demand courses and instructor-led classes. Conducting training sessions utilizing diverse modalities, such as in-person classroom sessions and virtual platforms, will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.

Additionally, you'll provide exceptional customer service by proactively communicating upcoming training sessions, managing waitlists, and addressing employee inquiries. Demonstrating commitment to high-quality learning experiences for public servants, aligning with the values and principles of the State of Nebraska, is essential. Utilizing your instructional design expertise and knowledge of adult learning principles, you'll ensure the effectiveness of training materials and delivery methods, utilizing software tools such as PowerPoint, WebEx, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, as well as other Creative Cloud software, and Articulate. Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Four years' experience and/or training in planning and presenting information and/or education to others through formal training, workshops, seminars, or other instructional venues including experience developing training programs or curriculum. Bachelor's degree in education, human resources, organization communication, training and development or related field may be substituted for experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in online learning development, utilizing a learning management system, video production, Adobe creative cloud proficiency, and/or instructor-led curriculum development.

Other: We will have each candidate do a presentation on a subject of their choosing. The presentation should be no longer than 15 minutes in length, and it will be used to evaluate their presentation and speaking skills.
