Store Support Center

We are searching for an experienced Treasury Analyst for our Store Support Center, located at 600 Citadel Drive, Commerce, CA 90040.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Treasury Analyst reports to the Director,Treasury & Risk Management.  TheTreasury Analyst will play a key role in managing financial oversight of dailycash funding and positioning. Additionally, they will be responsible for managingbank relationships including setup and maintenance of accounts, daily cashpositioning, and facilitating and monitoring the cash forecasting models,leveraging Smart & Final's treasury workstation and enterprise financialsystems (e.g., Treasura, SAP, Cognos/TM1).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includethe following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare daily cash position and work closely with banks and other partners to ensure the smooth movement of funds, as needed.
  • Work with bank web-based applications and interfaces to manage and adjust daily processes to maximize efficiencies.
  • Manage and maintain bank accounts including signors, legal names, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly and long-term cash forecast and improve variance analysis; may assist in annual budgets related to Treasury.
  • Compile and maintain SOX and audit compliance documentation for Treasury department, responding to information and documentation requests of auditors.
  • Review monthly bank service fee analysis and evaluate AFP coding.
  • Assist Director with ad hoc analysis and review of new product and service implementations.
  • Other reporting and analysis duties as need may arise.

EDUCATIONand/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university with a concentration in Business, Accounting, or Finance with a strong understanding of Information Systems or related field and a minimum of two to four years related experience.
  • Understanding of treasury/banking and financial accounting and reporting.
  • Prior experience in Treasury, Public Accounting or Corporate Finance preferred.

OTHERKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with long- and short-term response requirements
  • Ability to understand business processes and systems and the cash flow cycle within an organization
  • Ability to work and communicate clearly across various departments and the organization to accomplish goals
  • Must be able to organize, multi-task, and prioritize appropriately and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting rules
  • Abilityto analyze and interpret financial statements and financial modeling.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questionsfrom external companies, groups of managers and associates.
  • Ability tocommunicate effectively to all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to analyze financial records andperform financial forecasting.
  • Musthave strong PC skills and be proficient in utilizing database programsincluding Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
  • End user expertisein SAP, Cognos/TM1 reporting, treasury workstations and online bank proprietarysystems (Bank of America Cashpro) and interfaces is preferred.
