MEPPI's Uninterruptible Power Supply Division is looking for an individual experienced with Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems to perform remote technical and service support activities for our UPS products, single phase, three phase UPS systems and peripheral products. In this role you will work closely with our customers, technicians and engineers to solve challenging situations.

Essential Functions

  • Perform technical and service support on single phase, three phase UPSD products and associated peripheral products for MEPPI UPSD, authorized services providers (ASP) and customers.
  • Compile and report data to provide quality measurements to UPSD Management.
  • Update return material authorizations (RMA's) and warranty claims processes including inspection, testing, parts distribution, returned parts inspection and recordkeeping functions of the warranty claims.
  • Track quality records for Quality Assurance system compliance.
  • Utilize business system to validate warranties, determine parts availability, enter parts orders, and review contract status.
  • Follow and execute all of MEPPI internal procedures and RMA policies.
  • Check 800 emergency service logs on a daily basis and review with UPS Management as required.
  • Provide product support for various software options used for remote monitoring of UPSD products including vendor issues, product documentation and technical support to customers
  • Collaborate with MEPPI expatriates and Kobe technical support personnel and assist with factory tests/demonstrations as needed.
  • Assist in Root Cause failure analysis, determine corrective action, and document specifics for review with UPS Management and customer response.
  • Under close supervision, draft letters, memos, e-mails, reports and other communications as required for internal/external distribution
  • Provide technical support for sites testing and technical presentations as needed.
  • Associates degree in electrical/electronics, or equivalent discipline, with a minimum of 3 years' experience providing technical support and field service experience troubleshooting and repairing UPS systems, multi-module systems, and conducting site performance testing, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of field acceptance testing, test equipment, test reports, data analysis, safety requirements, and OSHA and IEEE standards.
  • Intermediate analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Intermediate interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required to communicate with customers, suppliers, and employees.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills, emphasizing knowledge of MS Office products and MRP/ERP systems.
