About the Team

As a member of the Global Tech Platform Program Management team, you'll be part of a cloud delivery community of practice over 100 Project and Program Managers who are responsible for leading software engineering teams and programs that deliver Walmart's global hybrid cloud solutions. Our customers are the thousands of Walmart business application development teams that lead Walmart's software applications innovation.

Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) in cloud software engineering, you will have opportunity to lead cloud engineering and deployment programs and scrum of scrums across multiple engineering Scrum teams for hybrid cloud solutions.

This position leads software delivery planning, execution, and reporting tools in partnership with engineering managers, software product managers, and engineering teams. It facilitates geographically distributed teams across global time zones. It also works with a variety of teams using advanced technologies for programming, security integration, release management, and telemetry. This role will also model compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, value and standards of ethics and integrity. You will be an evangelist for cloud acceleration and change management at all levels of the organization including executive leadership.

  • Your ability to be a technology delivery leader and observe and advance your project and program teams in their software delivery transparency, predictability, quality and throughput.
  • Your knowledge of delivery of private and public cloud deployment, telemetry and network traffic management technologies, migration and management methods.

  • Forming great project and program teams with clear expectations, execution transparency, and throughput.
  • Leading cross-functional teams that will solve for customer problems and develop solutions that enable us to redefine a "best-in-class" customer experience for Walmart application development teams.
  • Managing relationships with geographically distributed teams, offshore development teams and third-party vendors.
  • Being responsible for creating and consolidating project timeline and communicating overall program health in a way that all levels of the organization can consume.
  • Ensuring each team understands the overall project objectives and timeline and how their deliverables impact the overall program.
  • Working collaboratively with engineering and product management cross-functional peers and senior leaders/stakeholders to resolve program issues, drive mitigation plans, and update policies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in technical project management as a TPM
  • Project Management of enterprise cloud software engineering delivery
  • Experience in working with product managers and engineering managers
  • Experience with software application development lifecycle
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, related field, or relevant experience
  • Industry Agile and Project Management certifications
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, cloud migrations, capacity, containers, telemetry and network traffic management
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to constantly move or push towards a goal
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, growing environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of direct experience with cloud development programs multi-cloud architectures in a large enterprise setting
  • Experience with private and public cloud managed services
  • Exposure to application management, migration, and hosting on Azure, GCP, and open source.
  • Experience with JIRA Scrum and Kanban dashboard management
  • Experience with process development, Agile transformation, and organizational effectives
  • Master's Degree in relevant field
