Our Advanced UX Team at GM is responsible for researching and developing bleeding-edge experience proposals in the ever-advancing space of mobility and user experience. We are future-focused and let our customer needs, values and friction points set the foundation of our design work. As an Advanced UX Designer, you will immerse yourself in the latest technologies and trends to create innovative experiential concepts that will influence and inspire the future of mobility. We build innovative experiences for, but not limited to;autonomous vehicles, high speed HMI scenarios, heads up driver interfaces andnewfuture mobility experience concepts.Our goal is toevokeamazing,and createdelightful experiences thatre-imagine how our customers will experience our products in the future.

This role requires an ability to see potential in applying technology in ground-breaking ways as well as insight to understand the parameters of usability, safety, cost, feasibility and packaging. You are a designer well-versed in future-forward trends and have insight into how they can be applied to the mobility experience. Combining passion for developing well-reasoned and innovative customer solutions withainnate curiosity of what's coming next, the Advanced UX Team is growing and leads the way for GM Design in this dynamic and exciting field.

As a customer-focused team, we are looking for a candidate that is familiar with Design Thinking processes, customer persona development, storyboarding and journey-mapping methods. You will empathize and understand customer needs on a deep level and uses story-telling to communicate your ideas visually and verbally to an audience, both team members and leadership. We illustrate our concepts in a variety of formats including 2D, 3D, animations, interactive prototypes and Virtual Reality. We facilitate and participate in workshops and brainstorming sessions to capture and evolve ideas, discover interesting opportunities, and stimulate innovation. We prioritize personal connections and trust within the team as well as throughout GM. You will be highly collaborative and supportive of the broader studio team, as we draw upon all members to help the team meet its goals.

  • 2-D motion graphic expert with Digital Product Design capabilities.

After Effects guru with UI understanding to generate emotive digital interface concepts and animate next level experiential designs.

  • 3-D animation/ 3-D Prototyping expert

Exceptional VRED understanding to create 3-D animations, immersive demos and contribute to our team's storytelling abilities.

  • Graphic design expert

Sophisticated graphic design sensitivity to set the tone for digital experience concepts.

Advanced communication design and or illustration artist background or equivalent

  • UX Prototyping expert
Quick and effective wire-framing capabilities to quickly visualize digital concepts / West-Coast Product Design / High level Figma / XD / Axure prototyping skills

  • Storytelling/Storyboarding/UXresearchexpert

Help our team bybuildingup a picture ofourtarget users based on their needs, wants, motivations, and pain-points.Translate customer information and research intoeasily consumablenarratives thatcreate a context for our team to design innovative experiencesaround.

Additional requirements:
  • Preferably 2+ years experience working within the User-Experience and/or interior automotive design area.
  • Bachelors Degree in a Design field or commensurate experience
