ECS is seeking a UX Project Manager to work in our Washington, DC office.

ECS seeks a passionate, driven UX Project Manager to join our Customer Experience (CX) Team in its work to the create the future of federal services for our national security customer.

As a core member of our CX Team, you will collaborate with our customer and their stakeholders to:

  • assess the current state of the core services our customer provides the American citizens, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, and private industry;
  • scope and manage the delivery of multiple CX initiatives simultaneously;
  • drive collaboration and continuous feedback between members of our CX Team, our customers, and their stakeholders;
  • foster the sustainable growth of experience data collection and analysis;
  • ensure our CX Team is empowered with the information, guidance, and resources to do its best work;
  • identify opportunities to implement innovative approaches to customer experience, product, and service design; and
  • foster the growth of a customer-centric culture across the federal enterprise.
The ideal candidate has experience managing small-to-medium sized projects in technical and creative arenas and experience applying human-centered design methodologies (e.g., user research, usability testing, journey mapping, etc.) to orient project plans and drive meaningful project outcomes. You will work closely with your ECS CX teammates to manage the creation of engaging, customer-focused experiences across services, applications, and websites that are critical to our customer's mission success.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, day-to-day management, and delivery for multiple CX initiatives, accounting for customer requirements, organizational constraints, user needs and goals, and team skills and capacity to ensure project success
  • Lead project team communications and coordination
  • Create and deliver weekly or monthly project progress reports
  • Collaborate with ECS Design Research SMEs to plan and coordinate user research activities
  • Coordinate and lead regular customer review meetings
  • Support the translation of design deliverables into product requirements and backlog items for development teams.
  • Collaborate in the creation of customer experience success stories, case studies, demonstrations, and trainings.
  • Contribute to the creation of scalable CX resources and templates (e.g., playbooks, frameworks, etc.) that will guide the growth and evolution of a customer-centric mindset within the federal government.
Required Skills:
  • 3-5 years of project management experience - PMP Required
  • 2+ years experience managing or contributing to design and research projects (e.g., CX, HCD, UI/UX), including user research activities, prototyping, mapping, and testing
  • Experience collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative user data to derive key insights about the user experience for digital products and programs
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers and team members
  • Proven ability to translate conceptual requirements into design and business requirements
  • Experience gathering and documenting design and functional requirements
  • Experience managing design and/or technical projects from start to finish, to include research, prototyping, testing, and implementation
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects of varying scope, size, and complexity simultaneously
  • Proven ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize competing requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and experience contributing to quality assurance measures on previous projects (e.g., design reviews, usability testing, proofreading, etc.)
Desired Skills:
  • Experience working in Agile or similar lean delivery team
  • Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence)
  • Experience using Microsoft 365 suite
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud design applications
  • Public speaking/presentation experience
