RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client in Atlanta, GA is seeking a skilled and experienced VDI Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in end-user computing (EUC) technologies, with expertise in VMWare Horizon, Workspace ONE, and Microsoft technologies. The VDI Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining VDI solutions to meet the evolving needs of our client.Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement standardization strategies for VDI environments, ensuring consistency, reliability, and scalability
  • Evaluate existing environments and identify opportunities for optimization and standardization, implementing best practices and industry standards where applicable
  • Participate in the planning and design of VDI environments, working closely with architects and stakeholders to define requirements, capacity, and scalability considerations
  • Develop comprehensive environment plans, including infrastructure requirements, configuration specifications, and deployment timelines, to support the organization's strategic initiatives
  • Provide technical expertise and support to other teams on their projects, offering guidance and assistance with VDI-related tasks and initiatives
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment of VDI solutions with overall IT objectives and requirements
  • Conduct thorough fact-finding exercises to gather requirements, assess existing environments, and identify areas for improvement or optimization
  • Analyze legacy VDI environments and infrastructure, documenting configurations, dependencies, and potential risks, and develop plans for rebuilding or modernizing as needed
  • Configure and manage Workspace ONE to create a unified and seamless end-user experience, streamlining access to applications and resources from any device or location


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant certifications such as VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar certifications are a plus
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting VDI solutions, with a focus on VMWare Horizon and Workspace ONE
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy management
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, and the ability to deploy and manage VDI environments in hybrid or multi-cloud configurations
  • Demonstrated experience working with large-scale VDI deployments, ideally supporting tens of thousands of users across global locations
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and consolidation projects, including the integration of disparate VDI environments and infrastructure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
