Veterinary Technicians/Veterinary Assistants Needed!

VCA Wrightsville Beach Animal Hospital is looking for experienced Veterinary Technicians/Assistants to join our skilled team at our AAHA-accredited general practice hospital in Wilmington, NC. We are looking for full time candidates to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to use your technician skills, work with a dynamic, highly-skilled team, and expand your knowledge in a well-reputed veterinary hospital! Our facility includes digital radiology-whole body and dental, and ultrasound. We are conveniently located near the beach, shopping and a variety of restaurants. You will be challenged to grow and learn with a team that will fully support you along the way!

The ideal candidate will be a team player who is a friendly, dependable, a positive multi-tasker with excellent communication and client service skills and strong emotional intelligence. Prior experience in surgery, anesthesia, and advanced nursing care is a plus. Experienced candidates in this role are asked to think analytically through patient needs in order to deliver the highest quality care.

Minimum qualifications:

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a veterinary technician/assistant

• Experience with working in exam rooms, assisting doctors with procedures
• Experience with taking client histories and taking patients' vitals
• Experience with patient restraint and venipuncture
• Experience with performing and interpreting tests/diagnostics such as xrays, cytologies, cultures, etc.
• Experience with client education regarding pet nutrition, preventive medications, vaccine protocols, etc
