Welcome to VCA Northwood Animal Hospital! We are a full-service facility offering Preventative/Routine care, Emergency care, and Hospitalization. In addition to our general Veterinary services, we offer advanced services such as endoscopy, ultrasound, and advanced soft tissue surgeries.

Our technician team is growing, and we are looking for a team orientated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency service!

Overall Responsibility: Our RVTs provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients. Our Emergency Technicians thrive in a fast-paced service, handle critical case, and enjoy the stimulating caseload.

· Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.

· Venipuncture and IVC placement.

· Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.

· Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.

· Recognize subtle change in clinical status.

· Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.

· Complete estimates, basic record keeping.

· Anesthesia monitoring.

· Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.

· Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

Compensation:

Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.

Shift Differential: We offer a shift differential to all hourly associates who work within a specific timeframe:

· Eligible hours are 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, shift differential is $2.00/hr.

Schedule: Full-time opportunities available. Schedule is four 10-hour shifts with rotating Saturday's.
