Job Summary:

UT Arlington invites applications for the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. Reporting directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs will join a vibrant and engaged UT Arlington community to provide executive-level leadership to plan, lead, and implement key academic initiatives across all Colleges and Schools.

The Vice Provost is responsible for implementing processes that ensure the integrity, quality, and fiscal viability of all academic programs and for providing oversight of policies and procedures governing the graduate and undergraduate curriculum. This includes supporting departments and colleges in launching new academic programs and providing oversight and monitoring of academic centers. Additionally, this role provides leadership and guidance for academic program review, academic accreditation, and compliance requirements, including the reaffirmation process required by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. This individual will be entrepreneurial, cultivating relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, strengthening UTA as an institution of access and excellence, and working to support and implement vision and strategies in accordance with the University's strategic plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Vice Provost for Academic Affairs has responsibility for the supervision and management of all academic affairs functions in schools, units, departments, and programs, including planning, development, and evaluation of academic programs.
• Management of overall program development, implementation, approval, review, and governance processes. This includes oversight of the assessment of the effectiveness, quality, and appropriateness of UTA's academic programs, including coordination with regional and national accreditors, and with vendors who support academic programs.
• Strategic and operational leadership in curriculum planning and development for graduate and undergraduate studies at the UTA Fort Worth campuses, partnerships with community colleges and ISDs, and future sites and support of the development of new partnerships.
• Support as Chair and/or participant in key university committees related to academic planning, policy, curriculum, etc.
• Oversee budget and contribute to financial stability through careful stewardship of funds.
• Represent the Provost and/or Academic Affairs on and with internal/external committees or organizations. Provide oversight of academic centers including CMAS, CAAS, and new centers offering academic credentials.
• Support international agreements in partnership with the International Education Office.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience OR any equivalent combination of education, training, and related work experience.
• Thoughtful leadership in academic affairs, inspiring positive change and excellence with leadership, faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Possesses a deep commitment to student learning, success, and degree completion using 21st-century curricular and pedagogical best practices.
• Possesses a strong record of encouraging and supporting innovation and excellence in research/creative activities, teaching, and community outreach and engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with UT System policies and procedures.
• Provides academic input regarding institutional enrollment management efforts.

Special Conditions for Eligibility:

• Experience developing and guiding academic policy through shared governance and/or system approvals.
• Experience in leading and developing staff.
• Demonstrated ability to strategically plan and manage resources (e.g., financial, personnel, facilities, technology) and to lead cross-functional teams to achieve strategic university priorities.
• Ability to lead, manage, and communicate organizational change, adapt to new circumstances, and innovate in a dynamic higher education environment.
• Ability to collaborate with others to proactively identify and provide optimal solutions.
• Ability to fully engage in effective communication and knowledge sharing.
