CUMULUS MEDIA | Westwood One, is looking for a VP, Digital Revenue Operations to join our team. We are looking for an energetic and nimble problem solver with a passion for the rapidly growing digital audio industry. You should be a self-starter with a love of engaging audiences through great content. In this critical role, you will straddle two core responsibilities between sales enablement and business development. You will partner with Marketing, Production, Research and Sales teams as well as external distribution, technology and content partners to help develop and execute overall strategic plans across the entire digital portfolio, but with a main focus on podcasts. This role will be under the leadership of the President, Westwood One and based in New York with remote flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Enablement:
    • Serve as central liaison between sales and support organizations by building strong relationships and working closely across all internal teams including Marketing (Audience Development, Design, Events), Industry Relations, Production, Product, Ad Sales Marketing, Sales Planning, Legal, Brand and Research
    • Be trusted source of internal and external data, insight and context for sales, marketing and partnerships to provide weekly storylines to sales and partners including:
      • Context around publish research, insights and rankings
      • Weekly insights about attribution performance, uniques vs downloads, skip rates and completion rates, highlight stories in the trades, etc.
      • Updates on network download performance and highlights on growing shows
      • Business updates for key partners that provide context to monthly statements
    • Help build RFPs, recommend campaign modifications and demonstrate understanding of advertiser and product performance
    • Support troubleshooting and critical issue of ad serving bugs with Ad Ops team, working closely with appropriate internal or external teams to resolve
    • Project Management on all custom advertiser integrations (sponsored segments, feed drops, etc.) owning the process from ideation to execution, optimization and recaps.
    • Support Marketing in creation of sales materials and talking points
    • Provide continued sales training and education
    • Present monthly KPI reporting to leadership team
    • Keep a pulse on the podcasting (and overall media & entertainment) industry, build upon existing relationships (Megaphone, Triton, Podsights, Edison, etc.) and participate in initiatives that will generate revenue growth
    • Act as point person for all programmatic audio opportunities providing answers to questions and supporting ad ops in executions.
  • Business Development:
    • Support Finance with additional reporting required for monthly statements of key partners
    • Construct and present financial forecasts and models to guide acquisition decisions
    • Lead the forecast and model review with partners and FP&A leadership
    • Support legal counsel in creation and review of partner contracts with a specific focus on revenue and audience obligations
    • Track, document and communicate revenue and audience performance against individual podcast goals to leadership teams
    • Construct annual podcast business plan
    • Partner with other internal teams (content, marketing, ops) on all new distribution initiatives (e.g., YouTube) on GTM plans

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
  • Ten (10) Years or more of experience working in a strategic role within Audio or Digital Media
  • Familiarity with the podcasting ecosystem
  • Knowledge of the advertising/media industry and desire to learn and grow in the rapidly evolving digital landscape
  • Confidence working and engaging with various levels of talent as well as advertisers and agencies
  • Experience responding to RFPs from national advertising agencies
  • Proven multi-tasking, while prioritizing your responsibilities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with revolving deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Great attention to detail with excellent follow through
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A recognized team player, capable of managing individual project
