JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

Reporting to the EVP of Sales & Marketing, the VP of Global Trade Lane Management is responsible of building and running a global trade lane development program. The role requires very close collaboration with the leadership of both airfreight and ocean freight products to agree on common strategies that will boost volume growth for JAS and add value to our customers. This position will get results through outstanding leadership and communication skills, consistently fostering and supporting a culture of continuous improvement, with an eye on reaching optimum performance of the trade lane team around the world. He/she will help increase sales productivity through the creation and implementation of innovative, long-term, trade lane solutions that meet client retention and growth goals and deliver strong returns on investment.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on driving new business and increasing retention across sales organizations in the through close collaboration with product and management.
  • Manage and continuously improve the global trade lane program
  • Identify best-practices which can be systematized and scaled across the business
  • Ensure alignment of the trade lane program globally
  • Create and implement go-to market trade lane specific strategy and monitor effectiveness
  • Provide strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the Sales Leadership
  • Lead, directly and indirectly, a large team of trade lane managers globally and monitor the performance
  • Develop annual trade lane budgets based on strategic plan and on achieving above market growth by product and area; deliver budgeted performance
  • Establish trade lane targets to meet global objectives
  • Analyze trade lane dynamics and build the appropriate strategy and programs to differentiate JAS from the competition
  • Monitor through the trade lane team the key performance indicators and core metrics needed to ensure optimal sales pipeline in key trade lanes
  • Cultivate strong relationships across the organization and partner with leadership in all functional areas.
  • Develop and deliver training on trade lane solutions
  • Engage in critical RFQs together with the product leadership
  • Engage in global internal and external market updates
  • Prepare quarterly reports for the Executive Team

  • 5+ years of managing trade lane related activities
  • 5+ years of product and operational experience
  • Position might require travel
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
