Meal times are one of the most popular social hours of the day. Our Dietary Assistants/Wait Staff create a fine dining experience for our residents. Make a difference, every day, in the lives of seniors who call your community home. Volunteers of America, Sleepy Eye Care Center, is looking for a Dietary Assistant/Wait Staff to join its team. The Dietary Assistant/Wait Staff's role is to provide quality food service in accordance with all State and Federal regulations and to meet the nutritional and individual needs of the residents. s.

Sleepy Eye Care Center is looking for apart-time Dietary Aide to join our team!

Shifts available: 4pm to 8 pm and 4-6:30 pm during the week. Must work every other weekend, shift 6:30 am - 2:30 pm.

The Dietary Assistant provides quality food service in accordance with all State and Federal regulations and to meet the nutritional and individual needs of the residents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists in food preparation and ensures dining room is ready for service
Daily interaction and conversation with residents while serving them meals
Cleaning duties following guidelines and correct procedures
Immediately reports any suspected abuse or neglect per facility policy
Communicate observed resident concerns with appropriate personnel

Friendly and enjoy working with the elderly.
Previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.
Ability to read and understand procedures used for work assignments, instructions, recipe directions and diet order cards.
Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals.
Adequate strength, endurance and coordination to meet the strenuous physical demands of such responsibilities as preparing food items, carrying quantity foods, serving meals, handling soiled dishes, operating dietary equipment and cleaning assigned work areas.
Coordination and dexterity for preparing food and operating dietary equipment safely.
Ability to work in an area that is often very hot/cold.
Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.

Must be 16 years or older.
