Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Washington DC, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, or Toronto office:

Workforce Strategy & Analytics Analyst

What can you expect?

The Workforce Strategy and Analytics practice is at the forefront of rapid advances in the fields of workforce science, people analytics, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Using approaches from applied microeconomics, statistics, and I/O psychology, we help our clients unlock critical insights about their people and build evidence-based workforce strategies. Our team has been exploring relationships in workforce data for more than 25 years and continues to help organizations solve their most challenging human resource questions through statistical analyses.

Some of our core projects include:

  • Pay equity studies to identify internal pay equity issues and help clients establish pay policies and practices that result in equitable pay for all employees
  • Internal labor market analyses to identify drivers of key workforce outcomes, such as retention, engagement, promotion, and performance, and interventions an organization can undertake to influence these outcomes and improve diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Strategic workforce planning that enables an organization to balance its current and projected demand for talent against current and projected supply
  • Business impact modeling to identify the workforce characteristics and management practices that are the strongest drivers of business outcomes such as productivity, profitability, growth, quality, and customer retention
  • External labor market analyses to help companies better understand the labor markets in which they operate and to inform workforce strategies

We will count on you to:
  • Structure, merge, and clean data from clients, and prepare data for analysis
  • Perform advanced statistical analysis, including regression modeling
  • Contribute to client presentations with recommendations to clients
  • Help create and improve analytical tools

What you need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, I-O or related Psychology, Business Analytics, Statistics, or other quantitative social science fields
  • 2-3 years of related experience in quantitative fields
  • Programming/coding skills to clean and analyze data
  • Interest in people analytics
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple project schedules effectively

What makes you stand out:
  • Advanced data visualization skills (e.g., ggplot2, Tableau, etc.)
  • Ability to derive a story from data and analytics
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with clients
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues within a diverse team
  • Master's or PhD degree in quantitative fields, such as economics, I-O or related psychology, business analytics, statistics or other quantitative social science fields
  • Consulting experience
